Vintage rare 'Stratton' Powder Compact - S. S. Otranto

Unused, boxed, loose powder Compact made by Stratton with gold enamel coating and the ships image overlaid on gold foil. This Compact is known as the “Scone” compact because of the inner lid.

This compact was sold as a souvenir of a Voyage on the S.S. Otranto 1925 - 1957, later to become RMS Otranto. The Vessel was built as a Cruise Liner and served as Troop Ship during World War II.

Stratton of Birmingham, England are recognised for the quality of their design and craftmanship. Compacts produced in the 1930’s 1940’s and 1950’S are rare and highly collectible as an investment.
