A hand-painted oil reproduction from the original by George Stubbs, painted around 1765. The original painting was commissioned to commemorate the gift of a Cheetah to King George III from George Pigot, Governor of Madras. The King gave the Cheetah to his Brother, the Duke of Cumberland to care for. The Duke was the Ranger of Windsor Forest and was responsible for commissioning the painting of the Cheetah and its two Indian keepers along with a Stag from the Estate.
