Vintage 'SS Tamaroa' Sailor Doll

The Steam Ship Tamaroa was built by Harland & Wolff Belfast, Northern Island in 1922 and launched as SS Sophocles. Renamed in 1926 by Shaw Savill & Albion the Tamaroa ran between Great Britain and New Zealand until the Second World War when she served as a troop ship. The Tamaroa was refitted for a tourist class service after the War and was scrapped in 1957.

Small Doll’s such as the one listed were sold as souvenirs to passengers and were commonly given as gifts by Crew when visiting Ports.

Condition - Fair - hat and face showing dirt, uniform a little faded
