New Zealand made marquetry cigarette box by ‘Sovereign’. This fine example is principally made from of Rewarewa with marquetry on each side of the lid featuring 16 species of Native Timber. The box also comes with the original cardboard packaging.
These NZ Native timber marquetry items were very popular in their day with manufacturers producing a range of items including pencil cases, jewellery boxes, pencil cases etc . These items fit comfortably into the Kiwiana category.
